The Butterfly Release is a celebration of the brief, but significant lives of our babies. It is a time for families to reflect and honour these lives in a beautiful park setting. Guests are invited to bring their friends, families and siblings.

Location: Fanshawe Conservation Authority. Beach Pavilion
Cost: $35.00 Butterfly including park admission.
Additional butterflies are $25 each.
Non-attending butterflies (released on your behalf) $25 each
After September 8th the price increases to $40
What To Expect
Bring your picnic basket and lawn chairs and enjoy a family style picnic. There will be cold drinks for sale and fundraising activities to support our free support services for bereaved parents. Enjoy meeting other families and sharing the memory of your child. Children are invited to take part in some games and activities.
Share Your Memory
Share your child’s name and your memories. Guest are invited to share who they are attending the event in memory of with all the guests. Your child’s name and a short dedication will be included in the program. We invite you to fill out the registration form and include your favourite poem, quote, a few words about your child and there name.
Out of Town?
Or You Would Like A Butterfly Released In Honour Of Someone?
We invite our out of town guests and friends to participate in this beautiful memorial event. Guest who cannot attend this event, will have the opportunity to purchase a butterfly that will be released on your or a loved one’s behalf at the event. A keepsake card will be mailed out to the recipient of your choice in honour of your dedication. We encourage you to share your thoughts and child’s name on the memory board at the event by completing the form. Following the event, pictures and who the butterfly was released on behalf of will be shared on our webpage.
Support the Picnic
This annual event is PAIL Network’s primary fundraising event. The funds raised from this event provide trained peer led support in communities across Ontario.
